A TikTok influencer accused of possessing child pornography was reported to authorities after his girlfriend allegedly discovered the material while checking his phone due to suspicions of infidelity, according to an arrest report.
Arrest and Charges
Mason Hull, 18, of Sarasota, Florida, was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with 15 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. Investigators stated that the images and videos depicted girls aged between eight and 15.
Online Persona
Hull, who boasts approximately 350,000 followers on TikTok under the username 'Hullo,' is renowned for posting 'looksmaxxing' content—a controversial trend among young men that promotes extreme methods to enhance appearance and self-confidence. He also offers online coaching services through a website promising to help clients 'transform your body in 90 days.' Following the charges, his social media accounts appear to have been set to private.
Discovery of Material
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox13, Hull's then-girlfriend contacted police on April 30 after searching his phone and allegedly finding links, images, and videos containing child sexual abuse material. She also reportedly discovered Telegram messages showing Hull communicating with individuals selling and distributing the illegal content, investigators said. Deputies noted that the woman photographed some messages on her own phone and later presented them to detectives.
Defendant's Statements
When questioned, Hull allegedly told investigators he used Telegram to access the material because he wanted to 'try something new' and sought out pornography he considered taboo. He also reportedly admitted to paying for links to access the files on at least two occasions, according to the affidavit. Investigators stated that Hull acknowledged he was aware the children in the images were minors.
Investigation and Arrest
Court documents revealed that investigators later contacted Hull for a second interview, which he initially agreed to attend but subsequently called to cancel. On May 6, authorities obtained an arrest warrant charging Hull with 15 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material following a forensic review of his phone. Court records indicate each charge carries enhanced penalties because more than ten files were found and the videos allegedly depicted children being sexually battered. Members of the sheriff's Tactical Unit arrested Hull at his apartment complex the following day without incident. Jail records show he was released on a $112,500 bond, set at $7,500 per charge.
Court Orders
A judge has ordered Hull to refrain from using social media, barred him from internet access, and prohibited him from contacting minors or visiting places where children gather, as reported by WFLA. He is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment on June 5.
Official Statement
In a statement, the sheriff's office emphasized the case underscores its dedication to protecting children. 'This investigation highlights SCSO's commitment to protecting children and aggressively pursuing those who exploit them,' Sheriff Kurt A Hoffman said. The investigation remains ongoing.
