Three Hospitalised After Car Overturns in Benton Crash

Three people were taken to hospital after a car overturned in a collision on Station Road in Benton on Thursday, July 16. The incident occurred at around 3:20 pm, just outside the cemetery, involving three vehicles.

Emergency Response

Northumbria Police confirmed attendance at the scene in North Tyneside. The three individuals were transported to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The road was closed for a short time but reopened after recovery.

The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) dispatched a crew who took one patient to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) for further treatment. A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 3.22pm on Thursday 16 July to reports of a road traffic incident on Station Road in Benton. We dispatched an ambulance crew to the scene and transported one patient to the RVI for further treatment." Police transported the other two patients.

Traffic Disruption

A police cordon was in place while vehicles were recovered. Stagecoach diverted buses away from the area. Traffic delays were significant, but the road reopened after recovery trucks cleared the scene.
