A 32-year-old man has been charged with three counts of murder and one of attempted murder following a violent incident at a home in Rosemeadow, south-west Sydney, in the early hours of Sunday.
Police were called to the property just after 1:30am after reports of an assault. A 65-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene. A 64-year-old man sustained critical injuries and later died in hospital. They are believed to be the parents and brother of the suspect.
A 30-year-old son, who was also injured, was taken to Liverpool Hospital and later discharged. Superintendent Grant Healey of Campbelltown City Police Area Command said the surviving family member made the call to police.
The 32-year-old has been refused bail and is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday. Police believe multiple weapons may have been used, but no firearms were involved. Healey described the scene as 'very bloody,' with injuries consistent with blunt force trauma and edge weapons.
Healey added that the family was not known to police, calling the incident 'very tragic' and unpredictable.
