Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman found stabbed at her home in Westminster, central London.
The Metropolitan Police said officers forced entry to the property on Stanhope Place at around 08:30 BST on Monday after friends raised concerns. The woman, who has not yet been formally identified, was found with multiple stab injuries.
Police received two calls from a friend on Sunday evening, at 19:05 and 21:34 BST, reporting her missing. She was initially classified as a medium-risk missing person before her body was discovered.
Detective Chief Inspector Adam Clifton said inquiries were in the early stages and that a post-mortem examination would be conducted. He urged anyone with doorbell or dashcam footage to come forward.
The force has made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct regarding the initial contact from the woman's friend.
