Two men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was discovered dead near a canal path in west London.
Body Discovered Following Welfare Call
Metropolitan Police officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service rushed to an address on Horsenden Lane North in Greenford, Ealing, late on Tuesday evening. They were responding to a report expressing concern for a person's welfare.
At approximately 23:15hrs on Tuesday, 16 December, they sadly found the body of a man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The area is close to the Grand Union Canal, a popular local walking route.
Three Suspects Detained at the Scene
Officers swiftly arrested three individuals at the address. The suspects are two men, aged 43 and 36, and a 39-year-old woman. All three were taken into custody on suspicion of murder and remained there on Wednesday evening as inquiries continued.
A significant police presence was maintained throughout Wednesday, with a forensic tent erected at the location to allow for a detailed examination of the scene.
Ongoing Investigation into 'Unexpected' Death
The Metropolitan Police have stated that the death is currently being treated as 'unexpected' and that their investigation is in its early stages. A post-mortem examination will be scheduled to establish the exact cause of death.
