Three people have been arrested following a fatal crash on the A8 near Edinburgh Airport, in which a 58-year-old female driver died at the scene.
Crash on Glasgow Road
Emergency services were called to Glasgow Road, between Newbridge Roundabout and Gogar, at around 9.25am on September 7. Police, paramedics and fire crews attended the incident, which police described as a "hit-and-run" crash.
Officers received a report of a crash involving a grey Mercedes A250, a black Renault Captur, a grey Skoda Karoq and a grey Hyundai i30. Ambulance crews attended, but the 58-year-old female driver of the Hyundai i30 was pronounced dead at the scene.
Arrests made
Detectives said they were looking for three people who allegedly fled following the crash. Two women, aged 23 and 19, and a 32-year-old man have now been arrested in connection.
Four other people were taken to hospital for treatment and released.
Sergeant Mike Thomson said: "Our thoughts remain with the family of the woman who died. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
