CCTV footage has captured the moment a knife-wielding thief lunged at Tesco staff before using a bike to smash a barricaded door in Bristol. Josh James, 33, and Bobbie Reynolds, 30, were sentenced after a series of burglaries and knifepoint robberies at the supermarket.
The pair had been stealing from the store when a fearless employee confronted them. James grabbed Reynolds's knife and lunged towards the worker after being forced out of the shop. Desperate staff barricaded themselves inside, but James returned and smashed the door with a bike in an attempt to get back in.
James pleaded guilty to 18 offences, including three counts of robbery, nine counts of burglary, one of aggravated burglary, and possession of a bladed article. He was jailed for eight years. Reynolds pleaded guilty to affray, possession of a bladed article, battery, and four counts of burglary. She received a two-year suspended sentence, a 40-day rehabilitation requirement, and nine months of mental health treatment.
