Teens arrested after Edinburgh police chase and crash
Two teenagers have been arrested following a police chase through Edinburgh in which a police car was involved in a crash.Officers began pursuing a car that failed to stop for them on Pennywell Gardens at around 4.10pm on Saturday, October 4. The chase covered about one mile before ending at Waterfront Avenue.

Arrests and charges

The occupants of the vehicle, two young males aged 17 and 15, have been arrested and charged in connection with numerous road traffic offences. They will be reported to the appropriate authorities in due course.

Police car collision

During the incident, a separate police car was involved in a crash with another car. Two officers were checked by paramedics at the scene.Images from the scene showed the road closed off with at least four marked police vehicles present. One police car was pictured damaged with debris scattered across the road, and a red car was also damaged.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.10pm on Sunday, 4 October, 2026, a vehicle failed to stop for officers on Pennywell Gardens in Edinburgh."A short pursuit followed which ended in the Waterfront Avenue area."A separate police vehicle was involved in a collision with another car.
