Teenagers Cause Chaos in Salford: Rocks, Fires

An investigation has been launched after a group of teenagers sparked a weekend of 'serious and dangerous behaviour' in a Salford suburb. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) says it responded to 'a number of incidents' involving anti-social behaviour in the Dukesgate and Amblecote areas of Little Hulton on June 6 and 7.

Incidents Included Rock Throwing and Fires

The incidents included rocks being hurled at passing vehicles, fires being set, and criminal damage such as smashed windows. The culprits are believed to be a large group of youths aged between 13 and 17, according to GMP.

Police Identify Several Individuals

Sergeant Jack Edwards of GMP's Little Hulton neighbourhood team says a number of those involved have been identified, and officers will be speaking to them. In a post on the GMP Salford Facebook page, he stated: 'This behaviour puts members of the public at significant risk and will not be tolerated. I want to reassure the community that we have already identified several individuals involved.'

He added: 'Over the coming days, officers will be visiting the homes of those responsible, alongside our partners including Housing services, to take appropriate action and work towards resolving this issue. A message to parents and guardians: If your child is going out in groups, wearing balaclavas, riding motorbikes, and becoming involved in criminality within our communities - you can expect a visit.'

Sergeant Edwards urged parents to speak with their children about their behaviour and whereabouts, and the consequences of their actions. He reiterated the police's commitment to keeping Little Hulton safe and encouraged anyone with information to report it via the usual channels.
