A teenager threatened members of the public at knifepoint in Liverpool city centre, leading to his arrest. Merseyside Police were called to the area shortly before midnight on Tuesday, August 11, following reports of a domestic incident involving a man and a 16-year-old girl.
Incident details
The man reportedly produced a flick knife when approached by members of the public and threatened them. He also allegedly assaulted another man walking down the street.
Police arrested a 19-year-old man from Bootle on suspicion of possession of a knife blade article in a public place, threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a private place, assault by beating and affray. He remains in police custody for questioning.
Police cordon and response
Pictures show a police cordon in place on Seel Street in the city centre on Tuesday night, into Wednesday morning, with a number of officers in attendance.
An eyewitness told the ECHO that around 11 police officers were at the scene around 12.30am today. The incident concluded approximately 15 minutes later.
