Teenager Stabbed to Death in Hackney House Party

A teenage boy has been stabbed to death following a violent altercation at a house party in the London borough of Hackney, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Incident Details

Officers were called to reports of a large group of individuals wielding machetes on Towpath Walk shortly after 7:15 PM on Monday. Some callers also indicated they had heard gunshots. The victim was discovered with stab wounds in nearby Poplar Close. Despite the efforts of medics from both land and air ambulance services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation Underway

Detectives are working to formally identify the victim and inform his family. The Met confirmed the victim was a teenager but has not released an exact age. Detective Chief Inspector Ben Massink stated, "Our thoughts remain with the victim and his family. We are working at pace to ensure all his loved ones are informed and offered specialist support." He added that increased police patrols are in place in the area and urged anyone with information or footage to come forward, while requesting that videos not be posted on social media out of respect for the family.
