A 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a knife attack in Swansea city centre. The incident occurred on St Helen's Road on Friday morning, when police received reports of a man armed with a knife attempting to attack another man.
A 38-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment. The suspect, Bokan Qadiri, from the Blaenymaes area of Swansea, has also been charged with making threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
South Wales Police have stated that the two men are known to each other and that the attack is being treated as an isolated incident. A police spokesperson said: “We want to reassure residents that this was not a random attack, and there was no wider risk to the public.”
The police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the matter. The investigation continues.
