The Metropolitan Police have issued an urgent appeal for information after a teenage boy was fatally stabbed following a violent altercation involving machetes at a house party in Hackney, east London, on Monday evening.
Incident Details
Officers were called to Towpath Walk shortly after 7:15 pm following reports of a large group of individuals wielding machetes, with some witnesses also claiming to have heard possible gunshots. Upon arrival, police discovered the victim, a teenage boy, suffering from stab wounds in nearby Poplar Close. Despite the swift response of paramedics and emergency medical treatment at the scene, the boy was pronounced dead.
Investigation Underway
Detectives are now working to formally identify the victim and notify his next of kin. The teenager's name and age have not yet been released by authorities. In the wake of the tragedy, increased police patrols have been deployed in the area to provide reassurance to the local community and deter any further violence.
Appeal for Witnesses
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information, including mobile phone footage or dashcam recordings, to come forward.
