A 17-year-old girl who died in a crash in East Yorkshire has been named by her family as Mariella Rose. The collision occurred on Monday afternoon on Everingham Road, near Storwood Game Farm in Everingham.
Mariella, a Humberside Police cadet based in Beverley, was also a student at Askham Bryan College, a volunteer at East Yorkshire Mind, and a crew member at Shiptonthorpe McDonald's. Her family described her as a 'beautiful, joyous young woman' who aspired to become a police officer.
Humberside Police reported that at around 3:40pm, an orange Chevrolet travelling eastbound was in collision with a tractor. Emergency services attended, but Mariella, the driver of the Chevrolet, sadly died at the scene. Her family is being supported by specially trained officers.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, or who has dashcam footage or witnessed the collision, to contact them on 101 quoting log 304 of 30 March.
