Body Found in Search for Teen Missing at Rother Valley Country Park

Police have recovered a body following a search for a teenage boy who went missing in water at Rother Valley Country Park in South Yorkshire. The boy had entered the water on Monday evening and was not seen resurfacing.

Emergency services, including South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, and Yorkshire Ambulance Service, were called to the park near Sheffield at around 6:50pm. A specialist search operation was launched, involving multiple fire engines and police cars, as well as a helicopter.

In the early hours of Tuesday, a body was recovered from the water. Formal identification is yet to take place, but the boy's family has been informed and is being supported by officers.

Police had previously warned about the dangers of swimming in open water ahead of the bank holiday and warm weather. They said there would be an increased police presence at the park during this period.
