A 14-year-old girl has been found dead in a wooded area of parkland in Runcorn, Cheshire. Police have stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Officers were called to the scene near Walsingham Drive in Sandymoor at approximately 9.09am on Sunday, 15 October. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of the teenager.
The girl's next of kin have been informed, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course. A file will be prepared for the coroner.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 9.09am on Sunday 15 October police were called following the discovery of a body near Walsingham Drive, Runcorn. Officers attended the scene where they found the body of a 14-year-old girl. The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
The area was cordoned off, and emergency services remained at the scene into the afternoon.
