Essex Police are investigating after a teenage girl was forced into a car by men in Harlow and driven for around 40 minutes until she managed to flee to safety.
Incident details
The ordeal began just after 6.50pm on Wednesday, August 3, in the Minton Lane car park by Tesco in Church Langley. The girl was forced into a vehicle and driven to Epping, where she got out of the car in Buckingham Road at the junction with Lower Swaines at 7.30pm and got help.
The girl is safe with her family and is being supported by specialist officers. She has not suffered any serious injuries, police said.
Suspects and vehicle
The suspects are described as white men who were wearing tracksuits. The vehicle involved is believed to be a black car.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: "Detectives are investigating an incident which happened in Harlow this evening (Monday 3 August). We were called to a report of a teenage girl being forced into a vehicle in Church Langley and driven to Epping, where she managed to flee the car."
Appeal for information
Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who saw the incident in Church Langley or Epping to contact them urgently. The girl is white and has blonde hair. She was wearing a black top, black shorts, and white socks and trainers.
Detective Sergeant Paul Marks said: "We know this incident will be concerning to people. We understand and we are working at pace to try and identify the car and the men involved in this incident. If you were at either of these locations this evening please check your dashcam or CCTV. If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us. Please quote 1362 of 3 August."
