A 16-year-old boy has become the 12th person to die after getting into difficulty in water during the recent hot weather in the UK. Police were called to Bracklinn Falls near Callander in Stirlingshire at around 6.45pm on Thursday following reports of concern for an individual. The teenager's body was recovered from the water.

Emergency services attended the scene at Bracklinn Falls, a popular beauty spot within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: 'The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.'

This incident marks the latest in a series of water-related fatalities during the ongoing heatwave. Previous deaths have been reported across the UK, including in South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Cornwall, Hampshire, Warwickshire, Cheshire, Pembrokeshire, Lincolnshire, and Lancashire.
