A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Cheetham Hill. Police were called to Spender Avenue at around 6.10pm on Monday, July 27, as paramedics treated a man in his 40s after he was knifed.
Victim in stable condition
He suffered life threatening injuries, Greater Manchester Police said, though is now in a stable condition in hospital. A teenager has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remained in custody, being quizzed by detectives on Friday (August 7). His age has not been released.
Police statement
Detective Inspector Natasha Feerick from the Neighbourhood Crime Team said: "Our thoughts are with the victim and I’d like to reassure residents that we believe this was a targeted attack with no wider threat to the community."
"Our investigation is continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and the events leading up to it. I would like to thank officers for their continued work in locating and arresting a suspect as part of our ongoing investigation."
