At least one person was injured at a shopping centre in Sweden after loud bangs, feared to be gunshots, were heard. Police were called to Mirum Mall at approximately 11.45am local time.
Injured person taken to hospital
Upon arriving at the shopping centre in the city of Norrköping, officers located the injured person, who was taken to hospital by paramedics. The individual is not believed to be in a life-threatening condition.
Olle Älveroth, police press spokesman for the Eastern Region, told TT: "We have several resources on site looking for the perpetrator. At present, there is no information about any more injuries."
Witness describes chaotic scene
A witness described to local news outlet SVT the chaotic scene following the incident, claiming to have heard two shots and to have seen a suspect fleeing the scene on an electric scooter.
Police set up roadblocks and forensic experts reached the scene.
