Police have released an image of a black Ford Ecosport SUV they believe was used by the same burglars in two high-value housebreakings in Aberdeen. The first incident took place between Friday, August 28 and Wednesday, September 9 at a property in the King’s Gate area, where entry was forced and jewellery was taken.
Second incident in Newburgh Road
The second incident occurred on Thursday, September 10, between 11.30am and 2.50pm at a home in the Newburgh Road. Entry was again forced, and jewellery and cash were stolen. In both cases, the householders were out at the time.
Officers are treating the incidents as linked and believe the same people were involved. The force believes the black Ford Ecosport SUV was used in both robberies.
Appeal for information
Detective Constable Lewis MacIver said: “We are treating these incidents as linked and believe the same people were involved in these housebreakings. Both incidents happened when the householders were out, and the suspects have forced their way into the homes.
“We’re keen to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle, a dark-coloured Ford SUV, in the Bridge of Don or King’s Gate areas during the end of August or beginning of September. Anyone with private CCTV, doorbell, or dash-cam systems is asked to review any footage and provide anything of relevance to us as soon as possible.
“I would also like to ask local residents to remain vigilant and report anything of concern to police as soon as possible.”
