A large tractor has ploughed into the front of a home in Middlesbrough in what police are treating as a 'deliberate' attack. The incident occurred on Priory Road, where the red farming machinery, allegedly stolen, was left on the driveway with bricks strewn across the property. A police cordon has been erected around several homes as investigations continue.
Police Response
Detective Chief Inspector John Bonner from Middlesbrough CID stated: 'Shortly after 1am on Saturday, May 9, police received reports of a tractor being driven into a house on Priory Road. Those inside the tractor immediately fled the area. The property is unoccupied, so no one was injured, but neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution and will return once deemed safe.'
Authorities are treating the incident as deliberate, and a scene remains in place. Bonner added: 'I'd ask members of the public to avoid the area where possible. Additional patrols will be carried out over the weekend to provide reassurance.'
Appeal for Information
Police are appealing for anyone with information, dash cam, or doorbell footage of the tractor, which was stolen from Yarm, to come forward. The tractor was driven to Middlesbrough before causing damage. Contact police quoting reference number 087639 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
