Stephen Grzyb on the run after court van breakout

Stephen Grzyb, 22, escaped from a GEOAmey prisoner transport van as it arrived outside Liverpool Magistrates Court at around 10am on Saturday 1 August. He ran down Red Cross Street towards The Strand.

Grzyb, from Princess Drive in the West Derby/Dovecot area, was being transferred from Belle Vale custody suite and was due to appear in court charged with a domestic-related burglary.

He is described as white with short dark hair and was last seen wearing a navy T-shirt and navy shorts. Police have deployed patrols to the alleged victim's address while the search continues.

Temporary Inspector Bethan Hannon said: "We understand the concern this incident will cause, and it is vital the public can see Grzyb's face so they can report any sightings and help us bring him back into custody as soon as possible."

Officers are carrying out extensive enquiries, including patrols on foot and CCTV checks across the city centre, to locate Grzyb.
