A twisted stalker who faked a pregnancy in a sinister bid to win back her ex-boyfriend has been jailed after attempting to run over his new girlfriend in a car.
In a case that reads like a psychological thriller, the woman, identified only as Jane Doe, went to disturbing lengths to terrorise her victim. After being dumped by her partner, she created an elaborate ruse – even stuffing her clothing to mimic a baby bump – to manipulate him into reconciliation.
When this failed, her obsession turned deadly. In a calculated attack, she deliberately drove her vehicle at the new woman in her ex's life, leaving the victim with serious injuries.
Police described the incident as "a premeditated act of violence born from dangerous obsession". The stalker showed no remorse during the trial, where chilling details emerged of her calculated campaign of harassment.
This case highlights the extreme lengths some stalkers will go to when rejected, and serves as a warning about the very real dangers of obsessive behaviour.
