Disturbing footage has emerged of a man being stabbed in the leg on a busy Soho street, as onlookers fled in horror. The incident occurred on Greek Street in central London on Wednesday afternoon.
The video shows two men circling each other, with one brandishing a knife. A man in his 30s was stabbed in the leg in front of a crowd of hundreds.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before he was taken to a major trauma centre. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
The London Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to reports of an incident on Greek Street, W1D. A spokesperson said: 'We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre as a priority.'
Inspector Hannah Woodfield of the Metropolitan Police said: 'We understand news of this evening's incident will be concerning for those visiting central London and of course the local community. This is believed to be an isolated incident, with no further threat to the public. Met officers will remain in the Soho area for the rest of this evening, carrying out additional patrols.'
