Shots Fired at Memphis Shopping Mall, Lockdown Imposed

Police rushed to Wolfchase Galleria Mall in Cordova, Memphis, Tennessee, on Wednesday afternoon after reports of shots fired. Witnesses said they heard three to five gunshots inside the mall before being evacuated.

A spokesperson for the Memphis Police Department confirmed the scene was secured, describing it as an isolated incident and not an active shooter event. Numerous officers from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Shelby County sheriff's deputies, and Memphis police were deployed near the Macy's entrance.

A shopper described hearing what sounded like gunshots just after stepping off an elevator, saying the mall 'went into an immediate lockdown' before they were able to exit safely. The suspect reportedly fled in a white SUV, and the lockdown was lifted as the suspect left the building.
