A 30-year-old man from Bridgend has been arrested in connection with reports of a shooting in Laleston, South Wales. The arrest follows an incident on Tuesday evening, August 4, when police were called to an address in the area.
Incident details
A man was said to have suffered minor injuries during the incident. The 30-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating and possession of an air weapon with intent to cause violence.
A 29-year-old woman, also from Bridgend, had previously been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an air weapon with intent to endanger life. Both have been released under investigation.
Police response
Residents reported a significant police presence across Bridgend on Tuesday evening, with a cordon set up at Laleston Cemetery. The National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter was also seen circling above the town.
