Search for missing schoolboy, 11, last seen in East Lothian

Police are searching for a schoolboy who went missing overnight from a town in East Lothian. Connall Ward, 11, has been reported missing from Tranent.

The child was last seen at 11:30am on Wednesday, 19 August 2026, in the neighbouring town of Prestonpans. He has not been seen or heard from since.

Police appeal for information

Officers believe Connall may be with another female youth. When last seen, he was wearing dark grey Montrex joggers, an orange and grey tracksuit top, and Adidas trainers.

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for their welfare and are appealing for anyone who may have seen them, or who has information about their whereabouts, to come forward.

Statement from Police Scotland

In a statement, Police Scotland said: "Police are appealing for information to help trace a young person who has been reported missing from Tranent.

"Connall Ward aged 11-years-old. He was last seen 11:30am on the 19th August 2026 in Prestonpans area of East Lothian.

"Connall is wearing dark grey Montrex joggers and orange and grey tracksuit top, Adidas trainers. Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for their welfare and are appealing to anyone who may have seen them, or who has information about their whereabouts, to come forward.

"If you see the young person, please do not approach them if it may place them or you at risk. Contact Police immediately and provide their location and any relevant information. Please share this appeal widely to help us bring them home safely."
