Emergency services are conducting an extensive search for a missing 22-year-old Northumberland man, Liam, who was last seen heading towards Wylam from Wylam Bridge in the early hours of Saturday morning, August 15.
Search operation underway
On Sunday, August 16, a large number of police vehicles and mountain rescue teams were spotted in the Wylam area searching for Liam. Emergency services have also entered the River Tyne near Wylam Bridge as the search operation continues.
Northumbria Police have issued an appeal for information about Liam's whereabouts.
Description and last seen clothing
Liam is described as a white man, 6ft 3ins tall, of medium build with dark hair. He has tattoos down his right arm. Police have released a CCTV image showing the clothes he was last seen wearing: black joggers, black Nike trainers, a black t-shirt with white text and a diamond logo on the back, and a gold chain.

The search comes after a pedestrian was taken to hospital after being hit by a car on Wylam Bridge. The crash happened shortly after midnight on Saturday, and an ambulance crew treated one person at the scene before taking them to hospital. The extent of the person's injuries is currently unknown.
