Police and mountain rescue teams are searching for a missing 22-year-old man in Northumberland. Northumbria Police has issued an appeal after the man was last seen heading towards Wylam from Wylam Bridge in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Collision on Wylam Bridge
The search follows a collision on the bridge shortly after midnight, when a pedestrian was hit by a car. An ambulance crew treated one person at the scene before taking them to hospital. The extent of the person's injuries is currently unknown.
Description of missing man
The missing man, named Lewis, is described as a white man, 6ft 3ins tall, of medium build with dark hair. He has tattoos down his right arm.
There are a large number of police vehicles and mountain rescue teams in the area. Chronicle Live has contacted Northumbria Police for comment.
