Search for Missing Hiker Samuel Whitsed Intensifies

Police are scouring dense bushland for a Victorian man who vanished from a popular hiking trail on the opposite side of the country. Samuel Whitsed, 27, is believed to have travelled from Victoria to Western Australia to hike along the Bibbulmun Track, located near the outskirts of Perth.

Last Seen in February

He was last seen on February 18, carrying camping items and making his way towards the track on Brookton Highway, near Albany Highway. Authorities have grown increasingly concerned about Mr Whitsed's welfare over the three months since his disappearance and have appealed to the public for assistance.

Search Efforts Intensify

Footage released on Saturday showed officers, rangers, and volunteers trekking through dense vegetation and rough terrain in the hope of locating Samuel. Between April 28 and May 7, they searched the area near Canning Hut and Brookton Campsite after discovering a tent believed to belong to Mr Whitsed. However, no further sightings have been reported.
