A body has been recovered from the River Swale in Richmond, North Yorkshire, during the search for a missing 12-year-old boy. Police confirmed the discovery at 10.45pm on Saturday.
The search was launched after reports that the boy had entered the river at around 5pm the same day. North Yorkshire Police said the body is yet to be formally identified, but the boy's family has been informed and is being supported by specially-trained officers.
A police statement said the death is not being treated as suspicious. Authorities have not released further details at this stage.
