One person was treated for smoke inhalation after a shed fire in Little Hulton sparked a major alert this afternoon. Four fire engines were scrambled to Wallbrook Crescent when a shed attached to a property burst into flames.
Firefighters bring blaze under control
Firefighters wearing breathing gear quickly brought the blaze under control and prevented it from spreading to neighbouring properties. Paramedics assessed one casualty at the scene, but the individual did not require hospital treatment. Crews remained at the scene tonight to carry out damping down operations and check for remaining hotspots.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 4pm this afternoon (Tuesday 21 July), fire crews were called to reports of a fire involving a shed attached to a property on Wallbrook Crescent, Little Hulton. Four engines from Altrincham, Eccles, Atherton and Bolton Central as well as support from Lancashire and Cheshire fire services quickly attended the scene. Crews used breathing apparatus and jets to tackle the fire and prevent it spreading to neighbouring properties. One person was assessed by North West Ambulance Service as a precaution after reporting the effects of smoke inhalation. They did not require hospital treatment. Crews remain on scene carrying out damping down operations and checking for any remaining hotspots.”
