A major police investigation is underway in Salford following reports of a serious incident overnight. An area of Liverpool Street in Langworthy has been closed off, with a blue forensics tent in place on a section of pavement.

Police remained at the scene on Saturday morning (August 29), amid unconfirmed reports of a man's arrest in connection with the incident. The tent is in place beside a block of flats near to the Ashley Brook pub on Liverpool Street. Police tape stretches across the road.
Social media footage
Images and video posted to social media showed a man being led to a police van in the early hours of Saturday. No further details have been confirmed. The Manchester Evening News has contacted Greater Manchester Police for details and a statement.
