Reform UK councillor Billy Burke, 67, from Trafford, appeared at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court on Tuesday, September 29, as a preliminary trial date was set.
During a pretrial and preparation hearing, Judge Tina Landale said that prosecutors were seeking further time to decide if it was in the public interest. Other legal matters were also discussed that cannot be reported at this stage.
Not guilty plea
Mr Burke previously entered a not guilty plea before Manchester JPs to the offence of possession of a bladed article. The charge relates to an alleged incident on Woodsend Crescent Road in Flixton on April 30.
Bail and next hearing
A preliminary trial date has been set for January 7 2027. Davyhulme councillor Mr Burke, of Woodsend Crescent Road, was granted unconditional bail until the next hearing on October 15.
