A Rangers coach's car window was smashed outside Ibrox Stadium after the team's Old Firm victory over Celtic on Sunday. Craig Clark's Mercedes was hit while fans celebrated the 1-0 win, with images on social media showing the rear window shattered. The damage is thought to have been caused by part of a firework.
Clark was seen standing next to a supporter, visibly frustrated, as hundreds of fans celebrated the Gers' return from Celtic Park. The incident occurred in Glasgow following the match.
Celtic supporters' bus fire
Earlier in the day, firefighters were called to a blaze on a Celtic supporters' bus on Clyde Gateway, outside the Emirates Arena in the east end of the city, at 2.25pm. Dramatic footage shared on social media showed the bus engulfed in flames, with fire crews working to extinguish the blaze.
The bus, owned by McLean's Coaches, had been due to carry Celtic fans home from the game but ignited minutes after Rangers won. Police confirmed there were no injuries, and fans were escorted off the vehicle.
Vandalism suspected
Writing on social media, bosses at McLean's said they suspected the blaze was caused by an act of vandalism. A statement read: "We are aware of an incident involving one of our coaches on the Clyde Gateway earlier today. Based on the initial information and images we have received, we have reason to believe the incident may have been caused by vandalism."
The statement added: "The matter has been reported to the relevant authorities, who are investigating the circumstances. The vehicle has been recovered and will undergo a full inspection. We would like to thank the emergency services and everyone who assisted at the scene."
Arrest made
Police confirmed one man was arrested in connection with the alleged assault of a police officer and medical staff during the game. The 39-year-old will appear in court on Monday, September 21.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a call at 2:25pm to a single decker passenger coach well alight on Clyde Gateway outside the Emirates Arena in the east end of Glasgow today, September 20. Fire crews remain in attendance. There are no reports of any casualties."
