The family of Rachel Booth, a 38-year-old mother-of-three whose body was found in a lake in Cheshire, have set up a fundraising appeal to support her three young sons. The GoFundMe page aims to raise £13,000, with nearly £8,000 already collected at the time of writing.
Rachel was last seen by relatives in the early hours of Saturday morning in the Barnton area of Northwich. Her body was discovered in a lake at Oakmere on Monday following a search by Cheshire Police, who used underwater specialists and search dogs. Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
A message on the fundraising page states: 'Rachel tragically leaves behind her loving husband, Carl, and their three beloved sons - Alfie, Archie, and Ronnie. Any funds will be placed into a trust fund for her three young boys. The family also wishes to donate a portion to a charity supporting individuals and families affected by ADHD.'
Rachel's family described her as a 'guiding light' and a 'cherished member of our family'. They thanked Cheshire Police and all services involved in the search. Locals remembered her as a 'lovely clever lady' and a 'very active and very nice' mother.
Cheshire Police are supporting the family and have asked for privacy during this difficult time. A report is being prepared for the coroner.
