Quad Bike Crash in Zante Leaves UK Man, 20, in Coma

Bradley Belhomme, a 20-year-old from Salford, is fighting for his life after a quad bike crash during a lads holiday in Zante, Greece. He suffered life-threatening head injuries when the quad bike he was riding collided with a coach on Friday, July 3, just a day after he arrived on the island.

Belhomme is now in a coma in intensive care at a hospital in Attica, Athens, after being transferred from Zante. His mother, Leanne Rabbetts, flew out to Greece on Sunday and has been at his bedside daily, but can only spend half an hour with him due to strict ICU protocols.

Family's Desperate Plea for Answers

Rabbetts described the ordeal: "I spoke to him when he arrived, but then on the Friday afternoon I got the call saying there had been a crash. I was thinking 'what the hell happened?'" She added that doctors attempted to bring him out of a coma, but he suffered two fits and is not responding. He requires an MRI scan to assess brain damage.

The family believes Belhomme had travel insurance, but they cannot confirm details as they lack access to his phone. They have contacted the British Embassy for support. His uncle, Adam, said: "Because of the head trauma, we don't even know when he will be able to come home or the situation. We can't do anything. We are just waiting for the scan."

Community Support and Fundraising

Friends and the local community have rallied, organizing fundraising events and walks to help cover hospital bills. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the family. Adam described Bradley as a "loveable lad" and a "hardworking boy" who made a wrong choice while on holiday.

The family faces a language barrier and uncertainty about insurance coverage. "It's all questions and no answers at the moment," Rabbetts said. "We are like a fish out of water."
