A racecourse punter was ejected from a track for 'unacceptable conduct' following an incident involving top jockey Cieren Fallon. Fallon, the son of champion jockey Kieren Fallon, was riding at Hamilton on Friday night where he had six rides. None were successful.
Incident after novice race
In the second race, a 1m3f novice event, he was riding Flagbearer for his boss William Haggas. Only three horses lined up at the start and Flagbearer, the outsider of the three, finished third, two necks behind the winner. It was after that race that a confrontation occurred.
Hamilton Park said in a statement released on Monday: "Following the 5.40pm race at Hamilton Park on Friday, an incident occurred involving jockey Cieren Fallon and a racegoer.
"Following reports of unacceptable conduct, the individual involved was ejected from the racecourse by our security team.
Referred to industry authorities
"The matter has been referred to the relevant industry authorities and Hamilton Park will provide any information or assistance required, should it be requested as part of any formal inquiries."
It added: "Hamilton Park racecourse operates a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive, threatening or antisocial behaviour.
"We expect everyone attending the racecourse to be treated with respect, whether they are a racegoer, member of staff, official or racing participant. Abuse directed towards any individual on site is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
"The safety and wellbeing of our staff, participants, racegoers and the wider racing community remains our priority. Everyone attending Hamilton Park should be able to enjoy their day in a safe, welcoming and respectful environment, and we remain committed to ensuring those standards are upheld at all times."
Jockey's season record
Fallon, 27, lies fourth in the 2026 Flat jockeys championship with 64 wins.
A BHA spokesperson said: "We are aware of reports relating to an alleged incident at Hamilton on Friday, August 21. We do not comment on specifics relating to any investigations or potential investigations."
