A search is underway for a missing man in Lanarkshire after a significant police presence was reported at a hospital. Paul Callaghan, 33, was reported missing from Eaglesham Road in East Kilbride on Thursday, August 13.
Police were seen at Hairmyres Hospital, on Eaglesham Road, around 6.30pm, with a police helicopter assisting the search. Callaghan was last seen at Oak Avenue in the town's Greenhills area, about a mile and a half away, at 8.22pm.
Description and Clothing
Callaghan is described as approximately 5ft 9in tall, of medium build, bald, and clean shaven. He was wearing a grey tracksuit and carrying a black rucksack when last seen.
Extensive enquiries have continued overnight, including reviewing CCTV footage, as police work to trace his whereabouts.
Police Appeal
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland is appealing for information on the whereabouts of 33-year-old Paul Callaghan who went missing from the Eaglesham Road area of East Kilbride. He was last seen in the Oak Avenue area of East Kilbride at approximately 8.22pm on Thursday, August 13.
"Paul is described as being around 5 foot 9 inches tall, of medium build, bald and clean shaven. When last seen he was wearing a grey tracksuit and has a black rucksack."
Officers are carrying out extensive searches and reviewing CCTV in an effort to trace him. Members of the public are advised not to approach him and if they see him but to contact police immediately.
