Police update after two teens injured in Middleton crash

Greater Manchester Police have issued an update after two boys were taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Middleton. The collision between an electric bike and a car happened at the junction of Windermere Road and Wood Street at around 8pm on Monday, September 28.

Emergency services attended the scene, where a cordon was put in place. The two boys, aged 13 and 14, were taken to hospital for treatment after suffering serious injuries.

Driver arrested and bailed

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention. In an update issued on Friday morning, police confirmed he had been bailed pending further enquiries.

The road was closed for several hours on Monday night while investigations were carried out. Images from the scene showed evidence markers placed on the road within the cordon.

Appeal for witnesses and footage

GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit has urged anyone with information or any witnesses of the crash to come forward. Officers also want to speak to anyone who has footage from the scene.
