Police have released CCTV images of a man dressed as a lobster in connection with an assault at the World Darts Championship. The attack occurred outside Alexandra Palace in London, leaving the victim with severe injuries.
Assault details
On Saturday, December 13, 2025, a man in his 20s attended the championship. Around 16:30hrs, he left the venue and encountered a group of men dressed as lobsters. An argument broke out, and site security separated them. Shortly after, the victim encountered the group again on the venue concourse, and one of the men punched him, knocking him unconscious.
The victim was treated at hospital for non-life-threatening but serious significant injuries and later contacted police. He continues to suffer from significant injuries.
Police appeal
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Our thoughts are with the victim in this case, and we hope the best for his recovery. This assault occurred outside at a major sporting event, and the suspect was wearing a distinctive costume."
Detective Constable Lizzie Coster, leading the investigation, added: "We are releasing a CCTV image of the suspect in the hope that it will jog the memory of attendees, or anyone else who was in the area at the time."

Championship context
The incident took place during the 2026 World Darts Championship, which ran from December 2025 to January 2026. On day three, two-time champion Gary Anderson defeated Adam Hunt 3-2 in a nail-biting first-round match.
Darts supporters are known for wearing fancy dress, a tradition believed to have started as a way to catch the eye of television cameras.
Luke Littler won the championship for the second consecutive year, thrashing Gian van Veen 7-1 in the final on January 3.
