Police are seeking a man who intervened to protect three women from an attacker on Camden High Street. The Metropolitan Police were called to reports of a man trying to rob and sexually assault a group of three women around 8am on January 14.
Reviewing CCTV footage, officers saw a good Samaritan repeatedly place himself between the women and the intoxicated suspect. Officer Max Pennington said the man 'put his safety on the line' and stayed until the women were safe.
The police want to thank the man and speak to him as a key witness. He is described as white with a short brown beard, average build, wearing a light cream jacket, green rucksack, dark trousers, brown shoes, and a distinctive red beanie hat with a yellow logo. He intervened outside Miniso at the junction of Camden High Street and Inverness Street.
On Wednesday, the police confirmed the man had come forward and they were no longer searching for him. They still urge any other witnesses to come forward.
