The incident reportedly occurred at the Bognor Regis campus of the University of Chichester, with a male victim in his 20s stating he was raped between 10pm and 10.45pm on Monday, January 5.

More than a month after the alleged attack, detectives have launched a thorough investigation, emphasising that the welfare of the victim remains their top priority. The released CCTV footage, captured on the campus premises, shows an individual dressed in a grey tracksuit with the hood pulled up and a black coat. In some images, the man is seen wearing glasses, while in others, they appear to have been removed.

Detective Inspector Matt Phelps of Sussex Police addressed the public, stating, 'We believe the man pictured here will be of great help to our enquiries and we are keen to speak to him. A thorough investigation has been launched into this incident, with the welfare of the victim as our foremost priority.'

The police have urged anyone with information about the identity of the person in the footage to come forward immediately. They are asking the public to assist by contacting them online or via the non-emergency number 101, quoting Operation Collingwood.
