Police release CCTV after Newcastle teen attacked by four men

Northumbria Police have released CCTV images of four men they want to trace following a serious assault in Newcastle city centre that left a teenager requiring surgery. The attack occurred around midnight on Sunday, April 12, both inside and outside a premises on Cloth Market.

Victim sustains serious facial injuries

The victim, in his late teens, was punched, kicked and headbutted by four different men who were not known to him. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening facial injuries that required surgery. Police confirmed the injuries were serious enough to necessitate an operation.

Police appeal for information

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "Officers have released images of four men they would like to speak to following an assault in Newcastle. At around midnight on Sunday, April 12, police received a report of an assault which began inside a premises on Cloth Market in the city centre."

"It was understood the victim was punched, kicked and headbutted by four different men, who were not known to him, in the incident which continued outside the premises. The victim, aged in his late teens, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening facial injuries which required surgery."

Enquiries ongoing

Officers have been conducting a number of enquiries to locate those responsible, including a recent review of CCTV footage. The images released show four men believed to have been in the area at the time of the assault and who may have information that could assist the investigation.
