A Section 35 dispersal order has been issued by police in Port Talbot following ongoing concerns surrounding anti-social behaviour in the town. The order will be in place from Friday evening until 12am on Sunday.
Areas covered by the order
The order covers Station Road, including the car park at the rear and rear access lanes, Forge Road, Ty Draw Place, Glan Afan, Courtland Place and Grove Place.
A Section 35 dispersal order is a police power under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 in England and Wales. It allows police officers and community support officers (PCSOs) to direct individuals or groups to leave a specified public area for up to 48 hours to prevent anti-social behavior, crime, or disorder.
Police statement
A South Wales Police spokesperson said: "A Section 35 dispersal order is now in effect in Port Talbot in response to issues faced with anti-social behaviour in the area.
"The order covers Station Road, including the car park at the rear and rear access lanes, Forge Road, Ty Draw Place, Glan Afan, Courtland Place and Grove Place.
"The order will be in place until 12am on Sunday August 16."
