Police Hunt Paedophile Darren Inkpen Posing Risk to Children

Police are urgently searching for Darren Inkpen, a convicted paedophile who poses a 'high risk of serious harm' to children, after he breached his sex offender register conditions. Inkpen, 56, was released from prison in Kent in April 2026 but has failed to notify authorities of his whereabouts.

Conviction and Sentencing

Inkpen was jailed in 2021 at Newcastle Crown Court after admitting three sex attacks in the Hartlepool area. He was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life. During sentencing, he complained that his prison term might prevent him from attending miniature horse shows, according to Yorkshire Live.

Breach of Conditions

Originally from Woodview Road in Leeds, Inkpen was first released in November 2025 and was due to return to Yorkshire. However, he was sent back to prison after failing to register his address with police in 2025. After his release in April 2026 from a Kent prison, he again failed to comply with notification requirements.
