British Transport Police (BTP) are searching for a man after an alleged sexual offence on a train travelling from London to Southend. Officers have released CCTV images of a man they believe may hold information about the incident.
The incident occurred shortly before 9pm on July 18, when a man walked down the aisle of the train and sat on a seat near another passenger. He then exposed himself and masturbated while looking at the victim, who got up and moved away.
BTP said on Tuesday that they are keen to identify the man pictured in the CCTV footage. They believe he may have information that could assist their investigation.
Anyone who recognises the man or has any information is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 619 of 18 July. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
