Police Hunt Man After Train Sexual Assault Near Doncaster

British Transport Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to identify following the alleged sexual assault of a woman on a train travelling between Doncaster and Wakefield.

Details of the Incident

The incident occurred on Tuesday 14 April at approximately 7pm. According to police, the man followed the woman through the train before sexually assaulting her. He then alighted at Wakefield Westgate railway station after the attack.

Appeal for Information

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers investigating a sexual assault on board a train between Doncaster and Wakefield have released this image in connection. At around 7pm on Tuesday 14 April, a man on board the train followed a woman through the train and sexually assaulted her. He then left the train at Wakefield Westgate railway station.”

The force added: “Officers would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believe he may have information that could help their investigation. Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 652 of 14 April. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
