Police are appealing for help to locate an e-bike believed to be involved in a hit-and-run that left a 12-year-old girl in hospital with serious injuries. The incident occurred on Long Lane in Orford, Warrington, at approximately 2:40pm on Wednesday, June 17.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports that an e-bike had collided with the child. The victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable as of Friday, June 19.
The rider of the e-bike failed to stop and fled the area following the crash. As part of the investigation, a 16-year-old boy from Great Sankey was arrested on Friday morning on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.
Police closed the road while the girl was treated, with witnesses reporting a helicopter overhead. Detectives are continuing their inquiries and are keen to recover the e-bike, which has not yet been found.

Detective Sergeant Russell Sime, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "While we now have a suspect in custody, we are continuing to appeal to the public to help locate the e-bike that they were riding at the time of the collision. If you have any information in relation to the whereabouts of the bike, please get in touch."
